New WTS do Brasil Office in Natal
WTS Alliance Extends its Presence in Brazil
Northeast counts among the country's growth regionsSão Paulo/Munich, 14 October 2010 – The Brazilian tax consulting firm "WTS do Brasil" is extending its presence in the country’s north-eastern region. With its new office in Natal - the capital of the federal state of Rio Grande do Norte - WTS Alliance is now expanding its consulting network to the fastest-growing region of Brazil.
As a consequence of comprehensive promotion schemes initiated by the Brazilian government, industrial companies have increasingly settled in the Rio Grande do Norte conurbation, a region with a population of more than 1.1 million people. WTS World Tax Service in Munich would like to point out that these promotion schemes are also attractive for German and European foreign investments in the northeast of Brazil.
On the occasion of the opening of its new office in Natal, WTS do Brasil is now offering seminars on infrastructure projects, informing its clients about tax opportunities in particular in connection with the FIFA 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games. For the World Cup foreign suppliers will benefit from tax exemptions. “Further opportunities in Brazil will arise as we will soon host two of the major global sports events“, says Fernando Zilveti, professor of tax law and General Director of WTS do Brasil in São Paulo.
The volume of German trade with Brazil amounts to16bn US-Dollars per year. More than 1,200 German companies are already active in Brazil. By international comparison, though, the Brazilian tax system is extremely complex. Nevertheless there are possibilities to determine tax in advance. Moreover, the Brazilian government has launched a number of promotion schemes to reduce the tax burden. And even though the Brazilian tax system is not based on the OECD guidelines, foreign investors enjoy tax and legal certainty. During the past few years Brazil has been able to prove: Foreign investments do pay off.
WTS Alliance is a global network of selected tax consulting firms and is represented in more than 90 countries with its cooperation partners. The focus of its expansion strategy is currently on the markets in Brazil, Russia, India and China in order to assist existing and new clients in their progression towards expansion in these growth markets. In Brazil WTS has been represented since 2005. WTS do Brasil provides competent tax consulting services with its specialists, who for the most part speak German. These specialists have many years of experience in advising German investors, for instance in projects of German mechanical and plant engineering companies. WTS do Brasil also covers tax declarations and thus offers its clients a comprehensive service from a single source.
