WTS expands customs advisory service
More partners with corporate experience join WTSMunich, 13.04.2011 – Two customs and international trade experts currently holding senior positions with BMW are joining WTS at the start of May 2011: "With the experience of these two highly respected specialists, we can now offer unique professional skills also in the field of strategic and operational customs and international trade advice", said Fritz Esterer, chairman of the WTS Group tax consultancy firm.
Peter Baumgartner, until now Head of the Indirect Taxes, Customs and Export Control Department at BMW, and Uwe Grosse, the former Head of International Customs Law at BMW, will join WTS as partners. Baumgartner, a qualified tax advisor, and Grosse, a graduate in Finance, have many years of outstanding expertise in the area of international customs law.
As part of the new management model at WTS, Peter Baumgartner will assume responsibility for the section "Indirect Taxes & Customs (Supply Chain Strategy)". Together with Uwe Grosse, he will develop the customs business field into an integrated interdisciplinary consulting service for customs strategy and procedures. This will then be combined with the other service lines like VAT, Energy Taxes and Transfer Pricing. The capacity already available at the WTS office in Frankfurt/Main which focuses on customs procedural law will be complemented by the new customs business field.
Before their period at BMW, both new partners worked for the German Federal Customs Administration. Baumgartner can also look back on seven years as an international tax consultant with two of the Big Four firms. At Daimler, Grosse managed the reorganisation of the entire operational customs processes. Together, Baumgartner and Grosse have set new standards in strategic customs consulting. They possess extensive specialist competence in international tax and customs law.
"By combining customs, indirect taxes and transfer pricing, WTS is continuing to pursue its integrative approach to consulting in a systematic way. Experience has shown that fine-tuning these three areas results in a substantial reduction in charges for customs and tax", said Fritz Esterer.
